FAQ & Guidelines

FAQ
Q1. Will my brows look natural?
Many clients visiting Korea worry that their brows may look too dark, too bold, or unnatural after returning home. At MALJANE, our goal is not to create obvious eyebrow tattoos, but to design brows that naturally complement your facial features and blend seamlessly into your everyday appearance.
Our signature microblading technique has been refined through years of experience and thousands of global client cases. Creating natural-looking results tailored to each individual is our greatest strength.
In addition, all photos displayed on our website are minimally edited and represent our actual work as accurately as possible. This reflects the confidence and pride we have in our craftsmanship.Q2. Which eyebrow technique is right for me?
At MALJANE, the most important aspect of any treatment—whether Microblading, Nano Brows, Ombré Shading, Combo Brows, or Lip Blush—is personalization.
We carefully consider factors such as your facial features, glasses, preferred hairstyle, clothing style, natural brow growth, and facial asymmetry caused by facial muscles before recommending a technique.
You do not need to decide on a technique before your visit. During your appointment, we will thoroughly assess your brows and discuss your goals before recommending the most suitable option for you.Q3. . Can you work over old eyebrow tattoos?
Yes, in many cases it is possible.
Even if you have previous eyebrow tattoo work or residual pigment, we can often create a more natural and refined appearance through a customized cover-up procedure.
However, depending on the color, depth, and condition of the existing pigment, certain design options, colors, or techniques may be limited. In some cases, we may recommend a different technique than the one you originally wanted.
If you have previous eyebrow tattoo work, scars, or skin damage, clear photos must be submitted before booking so we can provide an accurate assessment.Q4. Does the semi-permanent brow procedure hurt?
We apply a high-quality topical numbing cream before and during the procedure to ensure maximum comfort.
Most clients describe the sensation as light scratching or mild pressure, and many even fall asleep during the session.
Individual sensitivity varies, but discomfort is generally minimal.Q5. How long do the results typically last?
Results typically last between 1 to 2 years.
However, retention varies depending on factors such as skin type, lifestyle, metabolism, exercise habits, and sun exposure.
Periodic touch-ups are recommended to maintain the most defined and vibrant appearance.Q6. How long is the healing process?
Most clients complete the primary healing process within approximately one week, especially when following proper aftercare instructions and avoiding alcohol.
Healing speed varies depending on skin type and lifestyle, but most clients can comfortably continue their travel plans during recovery.
Because MALJANE specializes in natural-looking results, many clients find that friends and family notice an improvement in their appearance without realizing they had a procedure done.Q7. Do I need a touch-up appointment?
From a technical standpoint, touch-ups are generally recommended.
However, many of our international clients visit Korea on short-term trips, so we focus heavily on maximizing the quality and longevity of the initial procedure.
With over 30,000 global treatment cases, MALJANE has developed techniques tailored to different skin types and client characteristics to achieve excellent healed results even without a touch-up.
That said, following the aftercare instructions is just as important as the procedure itself.Q8. Do I need a consultation before booking?
A complimentary consultation is highly recommended for both you and our team.
At MALJANE, safety, hygiene, communication, and quality are essential parts of achieving the best possible result.
If you are planning a trip to Seoul, we strongly encourage you to contact us before booking so we can discuss your goals and answer any questions.Q9. Can I get the procedure if I am pregnant or nursing?
For the safety of both you and your baby, we do not perform semi-permanent makeup procedures on clients who are currently pregnant or nursing.
We look forward to welcoming you once your nursing period has ended.Q10. What payment methods do you accept at the studio?
The remaining balance on the day of your appointment can be paid using major international credit cards or cash.

A deposit is required to confirm all new appointments. This amount will be charged immediately upon booking, with the remaining balance due on the day of your appointment. No separate consultation appointment is required before your first booking; a complimentary, personalized consultation is fully included within your session.
To reschedule or cancel your appointment, please contact the studio at least 72 hours (3 business days) before your scheduled date. Changes or cancellations made within 72 hours, or failure to show up, will result in the automatic forfeiture of your deposit.
We fully understand that navigating public transportation in an unfamiliar city can be challenging for our international clients. Therefore, if you anticipate being late, please send us a message via WhatsApp or LINE in advance. Communicating early allows us to manage our schedule without disrupting other clients. However, please note that if you are late by 30 minutes or more, your appointment may be automatically canceled. In this case, your deposit will be forfeited, and future re-bookings will not be permitted. We promise to deliver the highest quality of brow artistry for you, and we kindly ask that you respect our appointment times.
For optimal results, please minimize makeup around the eyebrow area and do not groom or pluck your eyebrows yourself for 3 days before your appointment—your artist will professionally handle the design and grooming on the day of your session. Additionally, absolutely no heavy drinking is allowed 1 day before the procedure, as alcohol increases bleeding and dilutes pigment. Please get plenty of sleep and avoid salty or heavy foods that cause facial swelling.
If you have a prior brow tattoo or residual pigment from another artist, you must send clear photos of your eyebrows beforehand so we can evaluate them. A prior consultation is highly recommended to ensure a much higher quality and more satisfying result. Please note that when performing a cover-up, your artist may recommend a different technique than what you originally desired, and the overall design or color choices may be limited depending on the state of your existing residue. Furthermore, depending on the complexity and difficulty of the cover-up work, an additional fee may be applied to guarantee the highest level of satisfaction.
The color may feel darker the day after the procedure, which is completely normal. From day 3 to 4, as the skin flakes off naturally, it will appear about 30% to 40% lighter. If the treated area becomes itchy with light flaking, do not peel or remove scabs artificially. On the day of the procedure, water must NOT touch your eyebrows at all. Please use cleansing tissues or a damp towel to gently wipe around the face, avoiding the brow area. Avoid swimming, intense exercise, and saunas for about a week, and apply the provided regenerating cream morning and night for 4 days in an extremely small, grain-sized amount using a cotton swab.
